About the event
On the Move
On the Move celebrates Black trailblazers, inventors, and visionaries who expanded access, opportunity, and imagination through transportation, exploration, and innovation.
Throughout the week, campers will discover how people move through the world by land, sea, and air while exploring the stories of pioneers who broke barriers and created new possibilities. Through hands-on design challenges, creative building projects, maps, navigation activities, storytelling, and real-world adventures, children will discover how transportation connects communities and shapes our everyday lives.
Campers won’t just learn about transportation—they’ll experience it firsthand through unforgettable field trips.
All campers will visit the Petersen Automotive Museum to explore automotive innovation, design, and engineering. Younger campers will visit Travel Town Museum, where they’ll discover historic trains and the important role railroads played in connecting people and places.
New this summer, campers ages 9+ will enjoy an exclusive sailing experience at the Los Angeles Yacht Club with Captain Marie Rogers. Aboard…

- Full Day Camp runs 8am-3pm - Extended Care is available until 5 pm. - Campers present for Extended Care without prior registration will be billed $25 per day.
