About the event
Afrofuturist Adventures invites campers to imagine bold, beautiful futures grounded in Black identity, heritage, and innovation. Drawing inspiration from African folklore, sci-fi, technology, and visionary storytelling, this week blends culture with futuristic creativity.
Children become world-builders, inventors, designers, and storytellers as they explore what the future can look like when imagination and cultural pride work together. Through hands-on projects, collaborative play, and creative expression, youth are encouraged to see themselves as leaders shaping tomorrow’s worlds.
This week emphasizes confidence, creativity, and self-expression—giving campers space to dream big while staying rooted in who they are.
Activities Include:
My Wakanda World Map – Design futuristic kingdoms or cities using mixed media, complete with names, values, and inventions.
Afro-Tech Wearable Art – Create futuristic accessories such as light-up bracelets, visors, or armor using LED stickers, beads, foil, and fabric.
